Why You'll Love It
Our medical-grade belly band (FDA & TGA approved) was developed with pelvic floor therapists to give new mothers real, evidence-based support — not the harsh compression of a traditional corset.
Rooted in century-old belly-binding practices found in South America, India, and Asia, we’ve simply modernized the concept for safe, gentle postpartum healing.
Key benefits include:
- Supports your belly, waist & hips for stability during daily movements
- Suitable for all birth experiences — vaginal or C-section
- Helps with diastasis recti by providing gentle compression that supports abdominal realignment
- Soothes the pelvic area and helps reduce discomfort
- Encourages proper posture & core engagement
- Supports muscle realignment and toning as your body recovers
- Promotes mobility so you can get back to daily activities sooner
- Provides gentle comfort after a C-section (once healed)
- Helps ease lower-back tension
- Made with ultra-soft bamboo fabric that’s breathable and perfect for sensitive skin
When can I start using my Belly Band?
If you had a vaginal birth, you can start wearing your belly band right after birth — many moms use it within hours. Early use is especially helpful because your body still has higher relaxin hormone levels, making the band more effective for alignment and recovery.
If you had a C-section, wait around 2 weeks for your incision to heal. Start with short sessions, then increase as you feel comfortable. Most C-section moms feel immediate relief, especially around the incision and lower back.
Can I use a Belly Band after a C-Section?
Yes absolutely! Belly binding is a well-known part of C-section recovery and can bring immediate relief to incision discomfort that often lasts for weeks (sometimes months).
We recommend waiting around 2 weeks before using your belly band, so your incision has time to close and heal properly. Start with short wear sessions and increase gradually as you feel comfortable.
Pair it with our Postpartum Briefs for all-day, all-night comfort—perfect for every mom's unique journey.
How do I use my MammaBump Postpartum Belly Band?
We made it super simple! Just wrap the band around your tummy so it covers your pelvic area and upper abdomen, then use the stretchable back strap to add targeted support and gentle compression where you need it most.
For best results, wear it 4–6 weeks postpartum for at least 4 hours a day.
It’s invisible under clothes, made from ultra-breathable bamboo, and you can wear it while walking or doing light exercise to support posture and encourage core engagement.
Easy, supportive, and made to move with you!
Can I use a Belly Band six months postpartum or later?
Yes, absolutely. Your body continues to recover well beyond the first few months. It can take up to a year for your organs to realign, and abdominal separation (diastasis recti) can last for many months if not supported with proper core engagement. Many moms also continue to experience loose skin, back pain, and core weakness long after birth.
A belly band can still help you by:
- Supporting core activation and posture
- Aiding abdominal realignment
- Reducing lower-back discomfort
- Providing light shaping for loose skin
- Offering stability during daily movement
Whether you’re 6 months or 12 months postpartum, wearing a belly band can still make a meaningful difference. Every recovery timeline is unique; it’s never too late to support your body!
